5th February 2016 - Extended archive to 2005 now live!
The Archive Team have completed the upload of new data and users may now search all issues of the Teesdale Mercury from July 1855 to December 2005. Searches and viewing of articles continue to be free of charge to users but please consider providing a small donation to keep the site running (see' How to Donate' below).
This online archive and website forms the central resource of the Teesdale Mercury Access Project (TMAP), a not-for-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers. The Teesdale Mercury is one of the few remaining independent local newspapers in England. It has been published in Barnard Castle (in the heart of Teesdale, County Durham) since July 1855.
